Treating Neck Pain

Acupuncture for Neck Pain

Acupuncture treatment can help with pain relief and management.

Acupuncture treatment for neck problems restarts healing in the neck and shoulders.  Where the very fine needles are inserted helps to  reprogram the central nervous system to kick start the body’s overall natural healing process to keep working on the problem.

When we treat your neck we will usually treat your liver function as well.  If you are stressed and have liver function problems, you neck will never come good until your liver comes good.  We use acupuncture to relax your liver – and when the liver is relaxed so too is the neck and shoulders.

Neck Pain Symptoms

Acupuncture for neck pain can help with pain relief and management.

Neck pain and tension is one of the most common problems in modern society.

In fact, ‘Tech-neck’ has become a problem for so many people because of constant laptop and device use. See our recommended exercises for “Tech Neck”

It is the most common cause of headaches and migraines and is right up there with back pain as causing the most day-to-day discomfort we experience.

What Causes Neck Pain?

Neck pain can be caused by many reasons and they are often interlinked. We see neck pain clients who have a lot of tension or stress, clients who who spend their time looking down at screens, clients who may have a whiplash injury, TMJ or they may have fibromyalgia.

Some clients have neuropathy, which is damage to the nerves and this causes pain.

This can be a result from chronic conditions like diabetes or other immune disorders.

Most neuropathy pain is in the hands and feet, but other areas can be affected. Symptoms typically include numbness, tingling, pins and needles and general discomfort and pain.

Chinese Medicine Treatment For Neck Pain

Along with acupuncture, cupping therapy can help relive tension in the back and shoulders.
